"It has been identified in a documentary carried out by Al Jazeera that the Zimbabwean President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, appointed Eubert Angel ( self proclaimed 'businessman' and Prophet who preaches the gospel) as Zimbabwe Ambassador for Europe and America. It has surfaced in the documentary, where there were undercover journalists who purportedly to be from China and wanted gold. The President of Mines; Henrietta Rushwaya ( Emmerson Mnangagwa's niece) and Eubert Angel have been involved in money laundering and smuggling gold out of Zimbabwe to Dubia. There's other nationalities involved in this cartel. As Zimbabweans we strongly believe that all assests in the United Kingdom that belong to Eubert Angel should be frozen, as there's is evidence that they were acquired illegally."
"The people of Zimbabwe are suffering as a result of these acts and they are faced with hardship and live in poverty. Zimbabwe has it's economy collapsed yet it's got enough resources to sustain the nation and create jobs for the masses. The health care lacks equipment, medication and the people to provide care - as health professionals have fled the country in search of better salaries elsewhere in the diaspora. The education system is poor as there are no facilities in schools for children to learn. There are no classrooms, children learn outside under trees sitting on rocks, there's no school furniture, books and all other resources for the teachers to be able to provide the best education for the children of Zimbabwe. The infrastructure is poor and there is no proper sanitation and because of that it has left people falling ill because of waste not being managed adequately."
"The roads are in a terrible condition and lives are lost due to the poor state of the highways as they lack proper servicing and maintenance. There is no clean water and the people are relaying on boreholes that were donated to the community by other Zimbabweans in the diaspora after having heard of the plight faced by fellow Zimbabweans. There's been lives lost due to deaths caused by fire as there is no electricity and people use firewood, gas and candles, paraffin lamps to illuminate in the dark in their homes. All these problems are caused by the government who is involved in gold mafia and money laundering resulting in the country's economy collapsing."
"It is now time for all Zimbabwean all over the world and those who sympathise with us to bring this to an end and we take action by signing a petition that Eubert Angel has to be arrested for the crimes he's committed. The billions that are laundered and gold smuggled can help build back the economy of Zimbabwe."

"Greetings, The Gold Mafia has been painful to watch. And we need to Act. On April 21 Zimbabweans will Protest at the Zimbabwean Embassy in Washington DC. This is a Citizens Protest and let’s all Untie and send a clear message to the Zimbabwe Government that we are not happy."

We, the Zimbabwe Economic Movement, a grassroots organization founded in the United States, are writing to bring to your attention the issue of money laundering and illegal externalization of funds by the Zimbabwean government and its supporters. We urge the Office of Foreign Assets Control to impose extensive sanctions on the individuals and entities implicated in the laundering of Gold from Zimbabwe, which has been estimated to be worth $200 billion in the last 10 years.
The evidence is overwhelming that the Zimbabwean government and its supporters have been externalizing billions of American dollars from Zimbabwe. This is a clear violation of American Law and must not go unpunished. The American government should take a stand and impose meaningful sanctions against the regime in Zimbabwe. However, sanctions alone are not enough. We believe that arrest warrants should be issued by the US Marshals, for Interpol to carry out the arrests.
Furthermore, we understand that the Zimbabwean government and its supporters have been printing fake American dollars. This is not only illegal but also a threat to the American economy. We urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and bring any culprits to justice.
According to recent reports by Al Jazeera, a number of high-profile individuals, including President Emmerson Mnangagwa, financier Billy Rautenbach, and several prominent businessmen and smugglers, have been implicated in this illegal activity. We believe that these individuals have facilitated sanctions-busting activities that have undermined the efforts of the United States and the international community to hold the Zimbabwean government accountable for its human rights abuses and economic mismanagement.
We therefore call upon OFAC to take immediate action to freeze the assets of these individuals and entities, prohibit U.S. persons from doing business with them, and work with international partners to ensure that they are held accountable for their actions. We also urge OFAC to consider expanding the scope of existing sanctions to include other individuals and entities that may be involved in similar activities.

“AL JAZEERA "GOLD MAFIA" DOCUMENTARY DEMONSTRATES URGENT NEED TO COMBAT CORRUPTION IN ZIMBABWE
Gold Mafia: Episode 1-The Laundry Service, released on 23rd March 2023, exposes alleged illicit financial flows from Zimbabwe, including serious allegations of abuse of diplomatic immunity, illicit gold trading, corruption and money laundering in the mining sector. Transparency International calls on the Financial Intelligence Unit, Zimbabwe Republic Police and the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate further and introduce the necessary reforms to end such activities in the country.
The documentary comes after the release of the 2022 Corruption Perceptions Index, which revealed endemic corruption in Zimbabwe, with a score of just 23 out of 100. New scandals of grand corruption and abuses of public office continue to emerge, which damages the country in the perspective of investors and development partners. Along with the shocking findings of the documentary, these results make clear that it’s time for the government to take stronger action against corruption and money laundering.
As the documentary highlights, more and more cartels work with individuals and institutions in Zimbabwe to move dirty money using anonymous trusts and shell companies in tax havens and other secretive jurisdictions. This insidious relationship facilitates organised crime and huge outflows of gold and other precious minerals. In particular, the documentary exposes incidences of alleged under invoicing and under declarations by registered gold dealers to Fidelity Printers and the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, alleging even higher losses than previously assumed. This reduces the country’s ability to build critical infrastructure and support the needs of the population or respond to urgent challenges. To combat this, the government of Zimbabwe should strengthen mutual legal assistance with other involved jurisdictions to facilitate the exchange of information. They must also ensure that such institutions have the capacity to manage mutual legal assistance requests.
It is also concerning that the documentary suggests that authorities do not complete sufficient due diligence into potential investors – including official gold traders. The revelations are a possible source of information to bust criminal networks that are actively engaging in gold smuggling and laundering money from Zimbabwe and other selected African countries. Law enforcement, anti-corruption agencies and regulatory authorities should immediately revoke gold trade and export licenses given to the implicated individuals and corporations, pending an investigation into the allegations.
Transparency International will continue to follow the remaining episodes and provide additional recommendations as relevant.
