Zimbabwe Teenager - Trust Junior Jordan GangataA young man murdered after a house party that allegedly got out of hand has been named as Trust Junior Jordan Gangata from Zimbabwe.

Police were called to a house in Salisbury Grove, Armley, Leeds, at 2.48am yesterday morning (Sunday) over reports of a disturbance at a party. The ambulance service treated the 17-year-old who was reported to have been stabbed. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Detectives launched a murder enquiry and have appealed for anyone with dashcam, CCTV and phone footage to get in touch. Friends of his family have been expressing their condolences on social media.

Ha Mu wrote: "Words cannot explain how I feel. My heartfelt condolences baba namai Gangata."

And Aimee Francis said: "I am so sorry to hear your terrible news… my thoughts are with you and your family."

Detectives from West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are now treating his death as murder.

Det Chief Insp Alan Weekes said: "The loss of a young life in such sudden and violent circumstances is an absolute tragedy, and we are treating this incident very seriously and doing everything we can to identify those responsible. "We are continuing to support this young man's family at what is clearly an incredibly difficult time for them, and we are committed to getting them the answers they need as we progress our enquiries."

One neighbour told LeedsLive: "I live opposite the house where the tragedy happened. They are new houses and were only built a couple of months ago and this was the first party, I think, to be held there. The mood was fine, the music was a bit loud but everyone was enjoying themselves."

On Sunday morning the streets around Salisbury Grove were littered with the debris of the party with cans of laughing gas evident. Tonight, (Monday), a celebration of the young man's life will be held at 5pm at Hyde Park. Friends have been asked to dress in either blue or black and guests are asked to bring black and blue helium balloons for the send-off.

The team that went in through the 'secure gates' of Downing Street, got to spend some time within the confines of the domain of the Prime Minister - and next door the Chancellor. The petitioners were subjected to intense ID checks, with bags and equipment X-ray'd. The petition itself was signed by 5 CCC members and Chief F Ndiweni as the petitioners, with several other supporters signing the overall written document. The 18 page Petition that was delivered to 10 Downing Street can be viewed HERE

The importance of these interactions at the top level of British politics cannot be over emphasised, Last year we managed to secure vital discussions with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, due to a similar petition presentation. This time around we anticipate further traction in the UK, EU, UN arena's - to see if democracy could be attempted within Zimbabwe!

Twitter Lord Oates CommentWe had Chieft Felix Ndiweni and Lord Jonny Oates in attendance today. They discussed the problems with political intimidation in Zimbabwe. Lord Oats cited Job Sikhala and other Political prisoners in Zimbabwe regarding detention without trial etc.

Lord Oates later publish a supporting Tweet which we have publised here on the right.

 Chief Ndiweni also reported some disturbing news;
"because I attended the event today, the 23 villagers were all visited yesterday to report to the police and courts this Tuesday for "not finishing their community service". They were informed if the Chief, myself, keeps a 'low-profile' nothing will happen to the villagers.

So yet more of the underhand coercion that is employed by the regime of Zanu PF and its corruption of the Rule of Law.

This event is a prelude to the Full Petition to be handed over to the British Prime Minister on the 16th March at 2:00pm BST - see the event page CLICK HERE

"A great loss to the Zimbabwean community. A gifted and insightful philosopher and political pundit. His writings each Saturday were a weekly revelation. Zimbabwe will be worse off for this unexpected demise of a respected academic. He has left us far too soon. He will be sadly missed."

night plane and queue of Home Office victimsThe United Kingdom’s cruel and hostile asylum environment has given rise to yet another Home Office plan to deport people to Zimbabwe on a flight chartered on 2nd March 2022.

StatusNow4All[1] These Walls Must Fall [https://detention.org.uk]., MyRight2Vote, BARAC UK, RAPAR, CCC, Zapu, ROHR and ZHRO[2]  and other organisations abhors this decision, made in the name of the Home Secretary, Priti Patel. DOWNLOAD the PDF of this Petition NOW

It is immoral:

These are just some of the factors of note in relation to those who are being rounded up for deportation right now:

  • Some have been here a long time, as many as twenty years;
  • Some will have had Refugee Leave, such was the compelling case they presented on arrival in UK, but the law, now, allow the Home Office to strip them of this, due to a conviction for particular offending behaviours [para 339 Immigration Rules].
  • Deportation Orders are automatically made against people without British or Irish citizenship who have been given a prison sentence of more than a year
  • Some of these people will have served their time in prison and on license like any other person with a conviction and have subsequently lived in the community for many years without re-offending – the bulk of these ‘crimes’ are old.
  • They have been suffering the psychological damage and indignities of being on indefinite Immigration Bail with ankle tags, curfews, not allowed to work or study, and the ever-present threat of removal.
  • Suicide amongst those in this situation is NOT uncommon.
